What Do You Think?

Miley Cyrus has been having lots of photo trouble recently. Miley Cyrus has been having lots of photo trouble recently. First there were leaked pictures of her and a girlfriend... Then there were leaked pictures of her and a boy(friend?)... Then there were leaked pictures of her...just her... And then there was Vanity Fair... First Then Then This whole photo fiasco has caused major controversy among parents and fans of 15 year old Miley or Hannah Montana. To many, the leaked photos are forgiveable. Mainly, because most girls her age (and older, and younger) pose in front of the mirror and take their own pictures like that, but they would never make them public; nobody is meant to see them. And whoever leaked the photos was just horrible. But the most controvercial photos were from the Vanity Fair photo shoot Miley did with her dad. The photo shoot was shot by the famous photographer Annie Leibovitz, who claims that Miley's parents, and "people" were all in the room when the shots were taken, and that everyone agreed that they were appropriate and artistic. Different sites have taken opposing sides on the issue, and here are just some of the opinions and comments posted by writers, parents, and children alike: " "As a parent I blame the magazine, they more or less said this is what we what. I believe that they took advantage of the parents and Miley. I know how companies can be!" "The picture shows no more than a halter bathing suit does. Have anymoe what 15 year old swim suits look like. Give her a break. She entertains my hole family and I would hate for that to end because of a picture. So we saw a shoulder. Look at normal 15 year olds." MomLogic - miley.flv "This is really interesting… as a mom, the picture in my home, in my collection of photos, shows my beautiful daughter at an age between child and woman. But my 15 yo daughter’s picture - that picture - posted for public viewing? It’s much too intimate a picture." "It’s not a sexy picture, it’s not even an attractive picture. She’s a very pretty girl and that photo makes her look too skinny in the back and all blotchy in the face." "I’m not upset about this photo, per se. But I think it was a pretty bad judgment call. Most teenagers play around with looks like this. You know, posing in the mirror and all. But this isn’t your mirror at home or in a dressing room. When you are in a position of leadership, or you have people who look up to you, you have got to be more responsible about the decisions you make. In her case, she also should have had her dad and other adults in her life helping her make better choices. I absolutely would not allow my 15 year old daughter to pose like this in any magazine for any purpose. No matter how famous she was. I’m glad Miley took responsibility for this. I hope they were her words, and that she meant it. Both for her sake, and for the kids who look up to her. I also think the media should just let it go. It’s done. Get over it." " That’s what she wanted me to do, and you can’t say no to Annie. miley.bmp (Miley Cyrus, on the photos, before the publicity) " (Disney Channel publicity) "I'm sorry that my portrait of Miley has been misinterpreted," Leibovitz says in a statement issued Monday. "Miley and I looked at fashion photographs together, and we discussed the picture in that context before we shot it. The photograph is a simple, classic portrait, shot with very little makeup, and I think it is very beautiful." After the image was leaked on the Internet over the weekend, Cyrus told People magazine, "I took part in a photo shoot that was supposed to be 'artistic' and now, seeing the photographs and reading the story, I feel so embarrassed." Vanity Fair spokeswoman Beth Kseniak said of the photo: "Miley's parents and/or minders were on the set all day. Since the photo was taken digitally, they saw it on the shoot and everyone thought it was a beautiful and natural portrait of Miley." " (A) situation was created to deliberately manipulate a 15-year-old in order to sell magazines. Wondering what children thought of these pictures, momlogic.com created this video, where children voice their opinions: cyrus230.jpg Miley_Cyrus_.jpg cuar01_miley0806.jpg miley-cyrus.jpg MY PERSONAL OPINION: I've never been a huge fan of Miley, but I'm not a hater either. I think that the main Vanity Fair photo that everyone's obsessing about makes her look anorexic and scary, and the other with her father is kind of sketchy the way they're laying together. As for the other photos, she was just doing what other girls her age do. BUT THAT DOESN'T JUSTIFY IT AT ALL - she is a role model for MANY young girls and should be more careful about what she does, even in private. Her publicist or parents should have stopped the shoot, or at least the printing, but in a time of bad judgement on their part, they didn't and there's nothing we can do except support Miley for being embarrassed and apologizing. Because as hard as this is for her fans and their parents, she has hell to pay too. OK! Now it's your turn; I want to hear what you think! PLEASE: NO CURSING; LITTLE GIRLS CHECK OUT THIS STUFF TOO - BE A GOOD ROLE MODEL Also, when commenting, keep in mind that (1) Miley's parents and management crew were on set with her (2) Anne Leibovitz is coniving and notorious for taking racy photos (3) Miley is only 15 years old, and she trusts her parents' judgement. PLEASE: NO CURSING; LITTLE GIRLS CHECK OUT THIS STUFF TOO - BE A GOOD ROLE MODEL MY PERSONAL OPINION: " " I just want to be one of (Miley’s) friends. Want my opinion ok here it is.

MOST TEENAGE GIRLS DO THIS. She's actually more covered up in this photo than most girls. She's also a normal a teen. All of use teens are role models to little girls too. So really we all are bad role models.

Another thing is, she has to do what the photographer says, if not the shoot is shut down. If you look at the set photos, she's actually wearing jeans. So she's not naked. the photographer knew she was under age. The blame should go to the photographer because she did manipulate Miley in doing that. Vanity fair should have not published that photo too.

one question: WHO SERIOUSLY CARES! ? cause i really dont. what she does is her perogative, and kids dont HAVE to look up to her, which also makes it their perogative aswell. so why dont people just drop the subject all together?
